Unable to Find the Requested File. Please Check the Spelling and Try Again.

  1. Re: After upgrade to xvi.04, missing Documents / Files (Unable to notice the requested f

    Yeah, it looks correct.

My only remaining dubiety regards the Folders 'Documents', 'Music' and 'Videos', that for some reasons don't piece of work. I still become the following error message.

Unable to notice the requested file. Please bank check the spelling and try once more.
Unhandled error message: Mistake when getting information for file '/home/jhonny/Documents': No such file or directory

Shall I but ignore it? I just hope information technology doesn't create whatever problems, or that in that location is non some segmentation that I'yard non able to access.

    Thank you

  2. Re: Subsequently upgrade to 16.04, missing Documents / Files (Unable to find the requested f

That'south because at the moment you need to use the correct pathway in your command which would be "/home/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS/Documents" as the Documents subfolder is non in /habitation/jhonny but /home/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS

  3. Re: Subsequently upgrade to 16.04, missing Documents / Files (Unable to find the requested f

I see, is at that place anyway I can modify it in "Files" manager?

On the side, Open Office crashed, and when I launched it again, it was non able to recover the documents. It said:

    Object not attainable.
    The object cannot be accessed
    due to bereft user rights

Could information technology exist related with this upshot?

    Thank you

On the side, Open Part crashed, and when I launched it again, information technology was not able to recover the documents. It said:

Could it be related with this consequence?

Distressing; alter what in Files? I don't understand what you are asking. Were you trying to open up an OOo file from that /FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS folder, and if so was the file owned by someone other than yourself?
Let'due south see the output of

    Lawmaking:

    ls -la /dwelling house/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS/Documents
to come across who is owner of all the files in that binder, which I assume is where the OOo file came from.

  5. Re: After upgrade to sixteen.04, missing Documents / Files (Unable to discover the requested f

It happened while I was working on a file saved in a Cloud. Open Office collapsed, and when I re-started information technology was not able to recover the certificate.
I don't use anymore FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS, in fact I at present only work with the Cloud.

    Lawmaking:

jhonny@Jhonny-Lenovo-B590:~$ ls -la /dwelling house/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS/Documents ls: cannot admission '/home/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD': No such file or directory ls: cannot access 'DOCUMENTS/Documents': No such file or directory jhonny@Jhonny-Lenovo-B590:~$

    Code:

jhonny@Jhonny-Lenovo-B590:~$ ls -la /home/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS/Documents ls: cannot access '/habitation/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD': No such file or directory ls: cannot access 'DOCUMENTS/Documents': No such file or directory jhonny@Jhonny-Lenovo-B590:~$
Silly me! Once again I forgot about that flipping space in the folder name and then we needed the "/home/jhonny/FE_DE_OLD DOCUMENTS/Documents" marks once again.

Never heed that though, every bit the OOo file was in the cloud then we don't demand to bother with that once more. Equally to how yous deal with the crashed OOo file that is now not recoverable, I call back you might exist lucky if your OOo settings accept backups enabled in the config folder for OOo. I exercise not use OOo but LO instead which has its config in a folder in ~/.config/libreoffice so I imagine OOo will also be in .config in your domicile. Wait in there for a backup subfolder and you may find the last version of the file yous have at present lost.

If backups are non saved at the moment I suggest yous change your settings to make sure that they are saved in time to come; information technology may prove helpful if this happens again.

Past the way, I've now enabled backups in Libre Part.

  8. Re: After upgrade to 16.04, missing Documents / Files (Unable to find the requested f

The permissions off the folders in /home had been very correct as shown in fredericomaria's second post.
The folders .dbus and .gvfs and their contents should bee endemic past root:root.
This is what I see in my fresh installed and still virgin organization.
    Kind regards...
